Meet Cortlyn Bates Smith, a talented and driven individual from Waxahachie, Texas. She’s a proud graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from The Moody College of Communications and a minor in Business from The McCombs School of Business. For the past five years, Cortlyn made a positive impact as a dedicated school teacher in the Waxahachie Independent School District. Growing up, Cortlyn was surrounded by the commercial real estate business, thanks to her father Floyd, who helped found Bates & Myers Company. With this background, Cortlyn brings a wealth of knowledge to the industry. Outside of work, Cortlyn loves to spend her time training for marathons, attending church with her husband, Sumner, and play with her dog, Lady.
